LH 565 Yieldlogger for Harvest Combine

LH 565 Yieldlogger for Harvest Combine

Delivered as three "modules", you can start with the basic, and extend to your possible future demands.
1) The basic kit.
2) Moisture sensor (measure and compensate weight)
3) GPS ( For mapping purpose only)

The LH Yieldloggers, their construction- and working principles:

Harvest Combine:
The measuring technologies for combinable crops are identical for both LH 565 & 665 computer versions.
Crop weight is recorded through a special pulse-impact load cell, which is located in the top end of the clean grain elevator.

Crop moisture can be continuously recorded with a moisture-recording sensor, which can be mounted in two different locations:
1. As an extension-mounting unit at the top end of the grain tank „bubble-up“ auger.
2. On the clean grain elevator. A Machine-model dedicated by-pass flow unit leads a proportion of material to the moisture sensor. An incorporated electrically driven auger returns the material to the elevator.

The sensor records the moisture content, but also temperature, as crop temperature and relative crop moisture interacts. Moisture sensor is an option, but a must, if mapping via satellite positioning.

LH crop sensor technology produces no electrical or radiation hazards to the environment.

Which moisture sensor version is applicable to your Combine?
Certain combine models of the LH yield logger are only available with the elevator-mounted unit. Others at the costumer’s decision.

Which model is adequate, the 565 or 665?
The 565 model will splendidly satisfy most demands and performance desires for a modern Yield logger
The information provided by either the 565 or the 665 computers are comparable. Both computers are directly compatible to GPS position performance, subsequent yield mapping.
Do you however plan for a comprehensive implementation of precision farming technology in your farm business, the LH 665 should be considered as your best choice.

Common Questions & Answers :
Does a Yieldlogger reduce my machine output capacity ?
NO. (-However, several users of yieldlogger’s have had mixed experiences as a consequence of being able to monitor the combine performance continiously )

Why not just continue to record my bulk yield ?
Weighbridge or tip-weight…Yes. Both excellent methods.
However , detailed cross-field yield analyse’s can never be produced by bulk weight recording.

Can the LH565 & 665 be fitted to any make of combine?
In the principle : Yes! However there is dedicated retrofit– kit’s only available for a selection of the most popular machines on the market.
( Please check the availability list)

What about performance accuracy ?
Recording accuracy is very much dependent on your own weight & moisture calibration.( A 97% accuracy-rate is easy obtainable.)

Different Crop varieties ?
The performance accuracy is not influenced by the nature of the crop. However, moisture & the weigh sensor must be calibrated at least one time against a particular crop.

Calibration, How often ?
Basicly one calibration sequence for each crop variety is required. Any calibration is automatically memorised by the computer.
(It is however recomendable to conduct a control calibration at the start of a new season.)

Why does LH 565 & 665 record the moisture continously?
Because either models automatically compensate’s the crop’s actual moisture content to ”true” weight (storage conditions ).
(Storage condition = % definable by the operator ).

”Wet" respective "Dry" weight ?
Both records are memorized by the computer.

Crop temperature ?
The moisture sensor is also recording the actual crop temperature as a neccessary parameter for precise computation of ”storage-condition” -crop weight.

GPS- mapping?
We have designed the LH 565 & 665 for a easy ”plug-and-play” upgrade to precision farming crop-mapping performance.
It is consequently for you to decide when!

What additional parts must be acquired for GPS mapping?
1) A LH-dgps-module.(or similar receiver unit) 2) A LH datacard. 3) A card reader for your PC, and 4)- a ("simple", for a start) mapping software for your P.C. if you want to produce your map's in-house.

Alternatively, you may wish to use ”external” data processing, e.g your agro-advisory office.

Precision Farming Data processing:
An increasing number of agro advisors and suppliers of products or farm services are now offering data-processing services.

(Digital Soil analyses, Yield maps, Agent-application maps, ect. are today easily exchanged through the e-mail system. So your actual geographical location is not as important as it used to be.)

Do I risk to be outdated with my LH logger in two-four years time ?
NO. Both versions are software upgradable to latest new version.
We dare not to guaranty for the next twenty years, but...

Is any licence payable ?
Yes and No... LH Technologies does not charge you any fee when you have purchased and paid your yieldlogger.
Do you however licence GPS reference position signals, the provider will charge a rental fee. Satellite position signals are free of charge.

How do you order your Yieldlogger?
First : model identification. You must as a minimum order a 565 or 665 ”basic-kit”. Moisture sensor could be your personal optional choice.

GPS, Yes or No ?
If yes, you will require a datacard, possibly a card reader, and have your pc mapping software made available if in-house map production is intended.

What about service, warranty & support?
All LH products are covered by 12 mth. warranty.
By experience, we know –at no one’s surprise- that required field service and support is very much depending of the level of operator training. We therefore emphasize that operators should participate in a training session.
Training sessions are frequently organized by LHT.
