James Donger returns in Technical Support Role

LH Agro, UK supplier of Topcon precision technology, is pleased to announce that James Donger has returned to LH Agro as technical service and support manager.

James’ new role means he is spending less time on the road in a sales and installation capacity, as he did in his previous role at LH Agro, and is now supporting managing director Richard Reed in managing the customer support and servicing requirements of the business.

Alongside supplying and installing precision technology to Great Britain’s farmers, including RTK and GPS-based guidance systems, application rate and section control technologies, boom height controllers, crop sensors and yield monitoring systems, a considerable part of LH Agro’s operation is the ongoing support, upgrades and maintenance of existing precision hardware, software and infrastructure.

It is James’ responsibility to help ensure this side of the operation runs smoothly, liaising with the wider LH Agro team to ensure customer’s requirements are met, from installation and training, to aftercare, upgrades, updates and maintenance.

In the time that James has been away, LH Agro has evolved, supplying a wider range of products and services, and finetuning the structure and operations of their support service.

In 2022, the Cambridgeshire-based company entered into an agreement with Kubota UK to supply and install autosteer guidance systems through their GB dealers, and in 2023, became a Topcon TopNET live services reseller.

“In recent years, we have made the structure of our business more dynamic,” explains Richard Reed, managing director of LH Agro.

“Not only have we strengthened our position in the industry with strategic partnerships, and widened our product offering, there are now more processes in place for supporting customers’ requirements,” he adds.

“We are delighted to have James back on the team, taking the lead on supporting customers, and helping maximise productivity and minimise downtime.”

James, who earned a Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Plymouth University, grew up on the family farm in Nottinghamshire, which runs Topcon precision technology. After joining LH Agro as a sales and support engineer for 6 years, he then spent three years away working for an AGCO dealer looking after their precision farming requirements, and is now part of the LH Agro team again, after rejoining the business in May.

“It is great to be back at LH Agro, in a family environment with a brilliant work culture,” says James.

“It’s an involved role, which can be very rewarding; we have to truly understand customers’ businesses so the support and advice we provide helps customers get the maximum benefit from their precision farming kit. I’m looking forward to getting to know some of our newer customers who have come on board since I was last a part of the team.”
